12th - 19th September 2015 from £745
Restore, re-boot and reconnect on this deeply restorative and peaceful retreat just 8km from Montefrio. Restore mind, body and spirit with yoga, laughter and good living.
What you can expect from your yoga holiday...
Accommodation... a beautifully converted traditional farmstead in a stunning location high in the rolling Andalucían hills surrounded by century old olive trees and umbrella pine forest.
Peace and tranquillity... amongst abundant birdlife and wildflowers, with impressive views of The Sierra Nevada in the distance. The walks around around the Hacienda are breathtaking - miles of unspoilt natural land with mountain views.
Delicious vegetarian food... using a selection of seasonal local produce our two resident chefs create a delicious variety of mouth-watering dishes.
Yoga... In the beautiful daylight studio we will explore mindfulness through all aspects of the yoga path; including seated meditation (dhyana), body work (asana), chanting (mantra) and breath-work (pranayama). Jim will also guide you in a daily 10 minute mindfulness meditation that, by the end of the week, will be an easy 10 minute start to your day that will prove transformational if incorporated into your daily life.
Pampering... A stunning infinity pool, wood burning sauna lodge, 5 acres of woodland/olive groves all included in your retreat. A fantastic shiatsu massage therapist is also avaialble on request.
The day starts early morning with a light self-service breakfast, followed by morning yoga and meditation in the light airy yoga shala.
After morning yoga enjoy a delicious, wholesome and plentiful brunch.
Following a long leisurely brunch your time is your own to do as you please. Trek the countless nature trails on horseback or foot, through olive groves, wheat fields and pine forests. Alternatively, stay poolside and let nature come to you - watch numerous birdlife swoop down to bathe in the cascade amongst the banana and palm trees or treat yourself to an on-site massage.
Alternatively explore further afield The friendly village of Montefrio, with it's striking setting, officially declared a Town of Historical and Artistic Interest in 1982, is only a 15 min drive away. And Granada and its world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Alhambra Palace (often referred to as ‘The eighth wonder of the world’) are less than an hours drive.
In the late afternoon we get together again for yoga asana, meditation and mantra before enjoying an outstanding vegetarian dinner.
There will be two yoga sessions every day except Wednesday 16th September, which will be left free for you to explore the delights of Andalucía, take a ‘tapas route’ pony trek, an evening moonlit ride, or just leave free to kick back and relax by the pool.
