The Aurora Retreat 6 nights in the magical winter wonderland of Swedish Lapland
The Aurora Retreat offers inspiring scenery, amazing outdoor and cultural experiences, and deep blissful yoga in the beautiful arctic countryside of Swedish Lapland. A truly magical and awe-inspiring destination.
Alongside daily yoga, this trip of a lifetime offers you the chance to create a tailor-made programme to help you experience the wonders of arctic Lapland.
What you can expect from your yoga holiday...
Twice daily yoga sessions will include postures, mantras, meditations and breathing techniques that will leave you feeling even more connected to this incredible environment.
Breathtaking scenery and perfect peace allow you the time and space to deeply relax in the tranquility of your surroundings. The cozy and homely accommodation is an ideal haven in which to relax post yoga, with plenty of niches you can find to kick back with a mug of tea and honey, or finally find that time to read your book.
Amazing outdoor and cultural experiences
Our hosts specialize in running a wide variety of trips and magical activities in this awe-inspiring place. You can drive your own husky team or snowshoe across a frozen lake; spend time with the native Sámi reindeer herders and try your hand at some Sámi skills, or spend the night in the tranquility of a wilderness cabin. You can even learn the beautiful traditional craft of felt-making. When you’re finished exploring the polar wilderness, a real wood-fired sauna is available so you can relax in the traditional Lapland style!
The magic of The Northern Lights! The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis occur on average every other night in Lapland. Sometimes they last only a few minutes, other times they may continue for an hour or more. There are both seasonal and long-term variations in the likelihood of a Northern Lights display and the timing of this holiday has been planned to give you the very best possible chance of a spectacular Northern Lights experience.
Moderate to strong Aurora displays can be seen clearly from the guesthouse. Within a ten-minute walk you can get away from the streetlights and houses of the village to very dark areas, perfect for viewing even weak activity.

Accommodation
The lovely guesthouse was historically the vicarage and bakery in the village. The buildings date back to the 1920's and are a beautiful, warm and homely base. There are six, simple yet elegant, double bedrooms. Two have attached bathrooms; the other four bedrooms share two common bathrooms. The shared common area with river view is a cosy space to read, relax or share a conversation together, or just sit and listen to the crackling of the open log fire!
Delicious food is an integral part of your experience at Aurora Retreat and your meals are crafted to build strength and balance in the body and spirit! The unique cuisine is freshly prepared for you with the highest quality, organic and local ingredients.
