Building Grace through Mindful Motion: a slow flow retreat with Christina Christoph
Voted one of the Best Yoga Holidays in the World by the Times and the Guardian, we have been running this retreat for 7 years. A brilliant combination of yoga retreat and holiday, this retreat is a real chance to escape the everyday stresses and strains of modern life and spend a week of self-care in beautiful surroundings. Renew, restore and rebalance!
One of the "Best Yoga Retreats in the World”, The Times
“Christina is a gem among yoga practitioners. She uses a solid traditional understanding and practise - yet is intuitive and powerful - and is modern in her approach.”
Classes take place twice a day, mornings and late afternoons, either on the open-air rooftop shala with panoramic views across the mountains or inside a beautiful spacious studio.
We will practice to morning birdsong and evening sunsets. Starting each day with a mindful and joyful strengthening and releasing slow flow (vinyasa style). Morning sessions will build gradually across 2 hours as the body wakes up and increases in vitality, allowing us to harness our energy and enjoy the practice and experience of being in and moving our bodies with grace, awareness and ease.
Our evening practice will incorporate yin style, restorative practices and yoga Nidra (a form of guided deep rest meditation), giving balance to the active morning practice. These restorative practices will effortlessly lead us into a freer, more peaceful and more creative state of mind, helping us to think in new and helpful ways by refreshing our thought patterning.
The sunset sessions are designed to completely refresh and revitalize, using restful practices in order to achieve the healing mode which is at the heart of yoga; by resting in stillness we gain vital energy!
There is plenty of time between classes to enjoy the resort and/or to explore the delights of Marrakech but we will also take a day off mid-week to give you the opportunity to explore further afield or make maximum use of the spa and swimming pools!
Plenty of time to explore, pamper and relax by the pool!
Arrival day. We leave the day free for you to arrive at leisure. The first group meal will be dinner at 8pm on the 2rd. This will be the first time we will meet as a group, although you may meet fellow yogis by the pool beforehand. Over dinner, your teacher will introduce themselves and chat to you about the week ahead. This is also an opportunity to discuss any injuries or personal issues with them, (there is a chance to let us know any concerns or injuries in advance on the booking form we will send you).
