It was an amazing trip, something realy happened, I think I'm a bit in love with yoga and overwhelmed by all the internal movement that has started. I'm very grateful and glad i joined yogaexplorers. A beginning of something different and I feel inspired to follow this path further.

Having just looked back at the pix from a recent trip to Mexico (I have also been to Morocco with them) I can honestly say that Yoga Explorers really get the mix right. Delicious food, memorable locations, great company and high quality instruction. In short it's hard not to become addicted to Y E holidays. Do you have a loyalty programme.wink wink?? If in doubt, don't, just JFDI.

"I've been doing yoga with Jim for years now, so a week with Yoga Explorers in Marrakech was a total treat from beginning to end. Jim's approach to yoga has a genuine sense of curiosity, exploration and progression, no matter what your level of experience.
Booking a yoga holiday is always a bit of a lottery – unless you know the teacher very well. For anyone who hasn’t encountered Jim before, I’d sum up his teaching as intuitive, responsive, but, above all, full of laughter. That’s his USP – the rare ability to combine quite a profound examination of the principles of yoga with a real sense of fun (and plenty of cake!)"
Stunning location in the foothills of the Atlas mountains. A gorgeous retreat that was seamlessly organised by the lovely Jo (Yoga Explorers) and taught by the incredible Naomi Absalom for a really special week. Thank you yoga explorers, I would unquestionably book with you again.

Dear Yoga Explorers, Just a little mail to thank you so much for the wonderful holiday! You really know how to combine the best ingredients for a 'delicious' holiday: transforming yoga, a lovely and inspiring location, amazing food and bringing together fabulous people. I arrived completely stressed out and exhausted and only one week later I left revitalized and happy. Moreover, as an unexpected side-effect Andalucia prepared me for the heatwave that is currently paralyzing the city ;-)
Thank you for the beautiful yoga, the humor, and just being amazing company. I have been raving about the holidays to all my friends....whatever they choose to do for their holidays next year, I'll be back for sure!
Lots of love from Brussels
5 stars! I've already recommended Yoga explorers to quite a few people! The yoga classes were amazing. Brought my practice to a new level. Also really liked how you quickly responded to all emails before the trip - was very reassuring.

"Just want to say again how valuable I found the retreat in Spain, it was really insightful & useful for me (as a stress head!), and a thoroughly enjoyable week away! - So, thank you!"
I've just come back from an amazing week in Tigmi in Morocco - beautiful place, beautiful and really fun people, gorgeous food and super yoga. Simply gorgeous! I went on my own, slightly nervy at first thinking my yoga might not be up to scratch but we were mixed levels and the Selima (our lovely teacher) worked with everyone making us progress but never feeling intimidated. Plus, everyone in our group was so supportive and fun. I feel like my understanding and practise of yoga has really improved. I now want to do a Yoga retreat every year :)
Thank you Yoga Explorers, so lovely to meet you Jo and thank you - you are awesome, I haven't met Jim yet, but I will be booking again , Goa is looking like a... Go'a! Ha! - Sorry!
I am very new to Yoga and have never been on a Yoga holiday before. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, it was a really fulfilling experience in every way. The location was gorgeous, Jo and Jim from Yoga Explorers were lovely and the rest of my fellow travellers were a extremely nice bunch. Many had been on several Yoga holidays together before, but rather than be exclusive, they made me feel at home and part of the group. That also applied to the Yoga itself. Despite my complete inexperience, Jim made me feel good about my limited progress. The whole experience was paradoxically extremely relaxing but also stretched me (and not just physically!). It was a great week.

The retreat in Morocco at Tigmi was amazing, magical & memorable. The entire trip was extremely well organised and for someone who was traveling alone I felt completely at home and very welcomed :) Jo was an excellent host and I will 100% be booking another retreat through Yoga Explorers :)
I booked on the Morocco holiday having never been on a yoga retreat before and now I want to go on all their trips.
Just back from my second trip with Yoga Explorers - another wonderful experience. Beautifully chosen resort, great people and a perfect balance of relaxing holiday and therapeutic yoga - loved it! Thank you, I’ll be booking again soon.....!
This was my first yoga retreat so I was initially a little anxious. However, Jim and Jo made us all feel like close friends from the off.
Locanda del Gallo is a tranquil, elegant and understated haven. I found it the perfect place to find a level of balance and inner calm I've never before experienced. The hosts have created a sanctuary from the world on a hilltop location surrounded by woods and valleys. The rooms are simply decorated and furnished with beautiful items from around the world. Comfy beds, hot showers, fabulous healthy home-cooked food, breathtaking swimming pool, restorative hammam. It all added up to the most fabulous treat that you could award yourself.
The yoga 'dojo' set in a silent, sunny, woodland glade had me at 'hello'. And then there is Jim's teaching..... I was able to relax and really get into the yoga practice more fully than ever before. On top of this, Jim passes on his extensive knowledge with such gentle humour. It's like listening to a softly murmuring stream, holding your attention because what he's telling you is so interesting and insightful - but playful too. I loved it!
Thank you so much Jo for organising everything so beautifully, and for finding a little bit of heaven to share with us.
The yoga retreat at Locando del Gallo was excellent, enjoyed very much meeting Jim and Jo and many new friends! The teachings and beautiful sanskrit chanting was truly inspiring. I learned a lot during the course of the week. The family that run the villa are absolutely down to earth but incredible eye for detail and comfort, making this a true 5* experience.
Thank you very much for squeezing me in at the last minute.
Love, Alli xx

Really well organised trip. The location is beautiful - in the Umbrian hills, the rooms are stylish and understated. The hosts are very welcoming.
Jim Tarran's teaching is thoughtful and really well tailored. He manages to balance vast knowledge of yoga and Sanskrit with humour and sensitivity.
Great balance of yoga and R&R.
Jo worked in the background to make sure the week ran really smoothly.
Oh and the food is to die for....
Cannot recommend highly enough.
This was the trip of a lifetime! Yoga Explorers retreat at Yogamagic in Goa is not to be missed. Gorgeous setting in lush, tropical India, excellent food and deeply nurturing yoga morning and evening. What's not to love? Book it!
Andrea Luccheti, chiropractor: I am finding it hard to explain my experiences on the recent 10 day Yoga Explorers retreat in Goa, because it was so incredibly amazing on so many different levels.
I flew in to Goa and as promised was picked up by a friendly taxi driver who was waiting for me. The whole holiday experience carried on in the same relaxed and nourishing environment. I am an experienced chiropractor and was a bit of a yoga sceptic, sent by my family to de-stress.
The resort is very peaceful, with very attentive and caring staff, and the food served at breakfast and supper was light, clean and stunningly well cooked. I have eaten in many high-end restaurants but very few have delivered the flavours and quality of ingredients of Yogamagic. I did not miss meat at all.
The yoga with Jim was achievable, varied and gently progressive. By the second day I was looking forward to each class! I also started to understand what yoga was all about. It was described by Jim as a link, and by the time I regretfully left I had linked my mind and body together using breathing techniques and peace from my heart.
In fact I was so excited that my old self had got back in touch with me that I could hardly eat on the third day! I have come away a very different man and a much more happy and relaxed person. I have also come away as a convert and very keen to continue my journey into yoga.
I am forever indebted to Jim and Jo for their humble, happy and healthy introduction into yoga. I feel at least 10 years younger! If you want to find peace in your mind and body you must book onto one of their retreats.

"Quite simply brilliant. Better than good wine.
Jim is the most genuine, light-heart and profound teacher I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He somehow talks directly to your muscle tissue, calling your whole Self into focus when you're not looking. And he managed to be brilliantly funny in the process. Things that have come up in class around attitude, approach and composure have also been really useful in my work as a cellist and computer programmer.
Yoga Explorers seem to attract really interesting people, so not only do you get twice daily yoga with Jim, in a beautiful place with fine food, but v. nourishing conversation and a great laugh."
(Dr) Alice Eldridge
A really beautiful place and a very warm welcome plus five star food; arrived 'Knackered of Knutsford', departed 'Pampered of Perugia', many thanks Jo, Jim and everyone on the trip.
Just come back from Locanda del Gallo set deep In the beautiful Umbrian hills, Italy, having had the most amazing yoga holiday with Jim. Everything from the luxuriously furnished rooms with comfy beds and superb views, the delicious and beautifully presented meals, the infinity pool, the steam room and jacuzzi, the great company ....was outstanding. Oh and how could I not mention that the uniquely gentle, humorous and mindful approach that Jim brings to yoga practice was what made this the third time I have chosen a yoga holiday with Yoga explorers. Knowing that the yoga experience will always be invigorating, insightful, and leave me feeling both stretched and relaxed, ready to return to the madness of everyday life, is what makes me want to chose a yoga explorers trip every time. The location and whole experience could not have been better. Thank you Jim and thank you too to Jo for her every day attention to ensuring that everything went smoothly and we all felt nurtured and cared for. A truly wonderful break.
Jim . . . there are no words to describe the experiences I have felt this week, a new level & understanding of this beautiful Yoga journey, what a gift to share how you share, with humility & humour all with such natural grace & ease.
Thank you for highlighting the true essence of Yoga . . . . how refreshing . . . I loved every minute : ))))))))
Thanks again for the experience in Huzur Vadisi... it was quite simply the best yoga retreat I've been on. Richer, fuller, deeper and all encompassing - it brought the emotional aspect to the forefront and was very "heart-felt" which is of course something that can be lacking in some forms of Yoga, at the expense of the fixation on the physical, so thank you for reminding me of this crucial balance that is needed. Your passion and commitment shine through in a way that is simple, direct and powerful.
Huzur Vadisi with Naomi
From time to time we all do things that changes our lives, and I think I can include Huzur Vadisi and Naomi's teaching as something that has and will change mine
Many thanks for the photos, just great you really captured the essence of Italy. I really enjoyed my yoga experience, the whole package was excellent!!! I amazed even myself at how rested I felt upon return.
Always, really always, I left the classes with a smile on my face. Thank you so much for this celebration of life. I enjoyed every second!
Melanie Lutz, Germany
Jim is a truly gifted teacher. I have learned more this week than in years of doing yoga in the UK. And enjoyed every minute of it!
Dr Rita Das
A hugely enriching week- we were literally in the (heavenly) clouds- only with the luxuries of a pool, hot tub and exquisite fresh cuisine. The hosts were charming. And Jim shone as the accessible, playful, knowledgeable and caring teacher that he his. Thank you so much.
Rita Das (Dr)
Jim is pretty special. I think he is more than a yoga teacher. I see the world differently because of things that he said during our retreat!!
Thank you so much to you and Jim for organising the most amazing trip. Like Leah it was a first for me on almost every count (going to Morocco, practising yoga, being on a group trip) and I loved every minute. It was so good to be plucked out of one's busy life and transported to such an idyllic place as Tigmi and to get to spend time with such an eclectic group of individuals. Everyone was so kind and as the days peeled away, it was lovely to hear people open up to one another and enjoy each other's company.
I came home on a high and resolved to do something hedonistic for myself for one week of every year - so keep me posted!! I am still clinging to that glow of well-being despite being back at work and having no summer holidays on the horizon - and while I would normally be on my knees at this time of year, I definitely feel I have put something lasting in the tank!!!
I really enjoyed the combination of yoga and pilates - partly because no-one was an expert in both and it felt very levelling to take people out of their comfort zone in one or other area. Certainly it made it less intimidating from my point of view as I might have struggled to sign up to a yoga retreat in the first place having barely done any before!
It was lovely to meet you and it was such a magical break from my point of view that I keep pinching myself that I was there at all!
With love Susan x
When I signed up for my first yoga/Pilates retreat and first group outing ever...well Jo can testify i sent several apprehensive emails...would everyone be dripping in lululemon and doing effortless handstands? If my flight was late...would i be left to fend for myself at the airport? What if no one ate dinner with me?
I cant begin to tell you how much I enjoyed our time together! I want to thank everyone for being so welcoming and kind. I would not be exaggerating to say this week will be remembered for a very long time to come and you can bet i am already looking to next year when I've saved up vacation time for another time to join everyone.
Leah Melber, Chicago
What a blissful week! I didn't know what to expect, but my week with Yoga Explorers really exceeded any expectations I could have had. Such a lovely bunch of people, and the holiday was so well organised, but at the same time really relaxed. I had never done any yoga before but it really didn't matter and the holiday was a great introduction. I loved Jim and Paul's teaching and by the end of the week I felt physically strong, spiritually serene and like I had made some lifelong friends. And the hotel (Tigmi, Marrakech) is absolutely gorgeous too - huge rooms and a lovely boutique style
I really had a fantastic time - big thanks and hug to you and Jim. I will definitely be coming again!

Jim's teaching is always joyful, playful and investigative. I've been coming to his classes in Brighton for six years and have never done the same class twice, so a week with Yoga Explorers in Marrakech was a total treat from beginning to end. Jim's approach to yoga has a genuine sense of curiosity, exploration and progression, no matter what your level of experience. I reckon it's chicken soup for the soul, the body and the mind. Heaven. Counting the days till Italy!
Thanks so much for a fantastic holiday at the Hacienda, what a beautiful tranquil place - I loved the walks with the views of the snow capped Sierra Nevada and eating almonds from the trees! The accommodation and food were great too and so healthy, I really enjoyed the never ending supply of fruit salad with fresh mint! The infinity pool was magical, especially the daytime visit from the bat and the birds coming to drink. The wood burning sauna was a great new experience too. But best of all was the great yoga teaching (extremely relaxing - just what I needed) and lovely people.” - Kathy, trainee yoga teacher, Brighton
I can honestly say that this was one of the best holidays I've ever had! I will certainly be booking Yoga Explorers holidays again in the future.
The Hacienda was a lovely oasis of calm, the food was delicious and nutritious and yoga with Charlotte was both restorative and energising. The time flew by and we were really sad to leave but felt really rejuvenated from the whole experience. Our days were divided between yoga, eating and lying in the sun by the infinity pool listening to the wide variety of bird calls. In the evening we chose between walking in the beautiful surroundings with the wonderful view of the Sierra Nevada, relaxing in the outdoor wood burning sauna or sitting chatting and gazing at the stars. Charlotte added to the depth of the yoga experience by taking us on mindful walks, leading mindful eating and evening mediations.
Charlotte, I just wanted to say a proper thank you for an amazing yoga trip to the Hacienda. The setting, the people and most of all your whole approach to the holiday made it such a lovely experience to start feeling and thinking about things differently. I came home feeling calmer, healthier and more connected to my body than I can honestly ever remember!
Jim's teaching is the simplest and most powerful I've ever come across; each class leaves me thinking 'how silly not to do this everyday'.
Best holiday to date. Here I discovered inner peace, tranquility and nature's awesomeness.
I have been practicing yoga with Naomi for 4 years and never have I felt so strong, mentally and physically. She has huge experience and offers a unique approach which is practical, spiritual and fun. For me, Naomi is more than a yoga teacher, she is an example of how to live a more joyful life. It is her belief that yoga is an integral part of our everyday lives, that secures respect from those who meet her. I have just had the privilege to spend a week with Naomi on a retreat in an olive grove in the Turkish hills above Dalaman. There were 23 of us, lots knew each other, some had never met and every single person was adorable, this is not by chance, it is a reflection of the sort of person Naomi attracts, like bees to a pollen, she is a beautiful person and I feel honoured to know her and the luckiest person in the world to be taught by her.
Myself and two friends went on the Yoga Explorers Andalucia trip this summer, it was our first yoga holiday and we were slightly apprenhensive as none of us could claim to be anything close to yogis.
It was a superb experience, the classes were exceptional; taught with attention and care for all levels. We stayed in a beautiful villa nestled in a picturesque valley in the Andalucian hills. The food was fantastic, our accommodation was great, and above all Jo and Jim took special care to make sure everyone had a fantastic time which we undoubtedly did - the only problem for us was leaving!
This has been the most relaxing, energising and restorative week...EVER!
I am returning home with not only many new friends but an amazing sense of openess and lightness in my heart.
This feeling of happiness can be attributed to Yoga Explorers' ability to: create a magical atmosphere, inspiring yoga practise, a sense of openess and friendship from the very first moment...to mention a few.
On my journey to what I can only refer to as SamHardy! (Samadhi) I have met a group of beautiful people from all walks of life and many corners of the world.
The yoga practise was amazing. Every time we walked up to the platform I felt a sense of uplift and energy. Jim is a wondeful teacher who shows patience, strength, kindness and passion in his teaching. Together Jo and Jim have a gift for creating a magical space which fortunately for us they are happy to share.
I would recommend this (or any of their retreats) to anyone with an interest in opening their mind and body to a new experience. You could not be in safer hands.
Thankyou xxxxxx Maria

"To paraphrase Desikachar, what you can count on gaining from a Yoga Explorers retreat is a quieter mind - somehow the heaviness and the jumpiness vanish. BUT Who would ever have thought that transcending duality could be so deliciously agreeable?
When we're not in one of Jim's exceptional classes, we're flopping around by the beautiful pool or immodestly jamming bucketfuls of beautiful freshly cooked food down our necks.
For those unfamiliar with Jim's classes, be assured that there is enough depth and enough simplicity in them to suit anyone, and his natural warmth and humour put even absolute beginners at their ease.
Do not hesitate to go on a Yoga Explorers retreat. You'll be made to feel wonderfully welcome, and at this 10 star resort, you'll likely feel disinclined ever to return home.
DOUBLE THUMBS UP, MAYBE EVEN TRIPLE."
What a brilliant week! How not to gush??
Thankyou so much Jo and Jim, this week has surpassed all my expectations - I don't think I've ever felt so great going home. Relaxed, happy and with 10 lovely new friends - result!
I am a relative newcomer to yoga as you know and I really found your classes so inspiring Jim (PLEASE COME AND TEACH IN LONDON - if you build it they will come!). You've made me want to make yoga a permanent fixture in my life. It was challenging, relaxing, thoughtful, uplifting and above all fun (that I really wasn't expecting!).
As they say I WILL BE BACK! Thankyou lovely people!
Thank you for a magical experience!
The sunshine was beautiful, the location serene. The treatment I had was wonderful, and it was so healing and nurturing to be in the company of like minded people. The food was ridiculously good and the yoga both peaceful and challenging. I was in constant awe of the surroundings and at the time we spent doing the things that really matter but often get overlooked. Now, I feel stronger, more relaxed and I know that I have made friends who will continue to enrich my life. Thank you for a magical experience.

...it was the biggest yoga jump I ever did.
based on a gut feeling I flew from Varsovia to a yoga retreat in Andalusia (August 2012).
one of the best 'gut feeling' decisions I have ever made (living in Lahore (Pakistan) was a great one too!).
Jim Tarran is not an ordinary yoga teacher.
he is a man on a Yogi path. you can sense it in his way of being, talking, caring for us students. you can feel it in his silence and his child-like smile.
Jim & Jo have created the perfect holiday where you can relax, reflect and recharge with inspiring scenery, food, friendship and the most uplifting yoga it's possible to imagine. Absolute bliss.
Having only recently taken up Yoga (6-7 lessons) I decided to embark on a week-long Yoga holiday. The whole experience has been wonderful and one I would definitely do again.
The place we stayed in was nestled away from the distractions of regular life and civilisation and provided a beautiful, tranquil spot which was perfect for yoga. The food was also of a very high standard with our own resident chef who produced some of the best vegetarian food I have ever encountered on holiday.
But the best thing for me was the Yoga. Jim the Yoga teacher has an all encompassing teaching style and his classes perfectly cater for both beginners like me but also more advanced students. He has a very patient and perceptive manner which allows him to read who is in his class and how people are feeling and then tailors his sessions to meet these needs. He also has a vast knowledge of Yoga and its influences including its origins, philosophies and history. His endless enthusiasm has shone through and I am now at a loss as to why I have not taken yoga up before and I would certainly recommend this type of holiday to anyone else considering it.
Dear Jim and Jo, Thank you for the gift of yoga, when we opened it there was light, love and Laughter! Kerry 2012
Charlotte's De-Stress Yoga & Health Workshop was fantastic! Not only did I learn so much, but it relaxed me more than I thought possible. Charlotte is very good teacher, very knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about helping others. It was really helpful to learn some really good techniques to help me de-stress and soothe some of the tension that makes you feel uptight and unable to relax. It is ideal for anyone wanting to change the way they deal with and manage stress in their daily life. Can't wait for the next one!
Fantastic experience! Wonderful venue and weel worthwhile to have the chance to develop through the week, and experience aspects of yoga which can't be brought into weekly classes.

If you are considering a yoga retreat you can't go wrong with Yoga Explorers. Jim and Jo are an amazing team. Jo will take care of all your destination needs. You will stay in a gorgeous place with wonderful food and activities. Jim is a gifted and inspiring yoga teacher who will assist in leading you to a deeper yoga practice. Their charming British accents and humor are the icing on the cake.
Very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very, LOVELY!
You simply have to do it!
Mr Lee Christopher Ross, aged 40 (just) x
Doing this amount of yoga practise everyday, and with the space to absorb the benefits physically, mentally and spiritually has to be a 'must' at some point for everyone, whether they are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner.
Jim is a genle teacher with a great sense of humour. The hotel staff (Dahab) are friendly and there is plenty to do in the way of diving, snorkelling or just mooching aorund the shops and sunbathing in the company of others if you want it.
As a yoga novice I enjoyed both the quiet stillness of deepening into the poses and the different challenge of asanas that were new to me. I felt cared for in a non-intrusive way and loved the yoga space.
I may not have gained enlightenment but I am uplifted by the experience.
I loved Jim's teaching. He watches what you are capable of and takes you there to suit your body. There is no pressure but he creates a safe atmosphere and you find something marvellous happening.
Hotel was exacly the right choice. Yoga overlooking the changing light of the Red Sea and the pink mountains of Saudi Arabia from a Bedouin tent and the scene was set.
Thank you for an almost perfect holiday - the chalenge is set now to better it!
I have just spent the most wonderful week with Yoga Explorers at the Hacienda retreat, Andalucia. My experience was exactly as described on the advert - I "indulged in a week of blissful yoga and relaxation; restored mind, body and spirit!"
The surroundings were peaceful, beautiful and quiet and the accommodation was comfortable and conducive to relaxation! The food was healthy and interesting, providded by Scott, the chef, a great character from Edinburgh!
Jo and Jim made the holiday arrangements hassle free and looked after us well. There were seven of us on this trip, which made it intimate and friendly! The yoga was fantastic. Jim plans the sessions thoughfully and with love and care, and teaches with great sensitivity and humour!! We were made welcome by hosts Tracey and Jason.
I would thoroughly recommenda Yoga Explorers holiday to anyone who wants to unwind totally!
Dr Rita Das
I had a week in Spain with Jim Tarran: venue was beautiful, food very tasty, the yoga - focused, fun and mind & body expanding!- Thanks so much for a well-organised and fantastic break.

"A blissful surprise in probably one of the nicest places I've ever been to. Jim is one of the best teachers I've come across. It's a shame that I won't be able to go to one of his drop-in classes because it's in the UK. Nevertheless, it offers me the perfect opportunity to book another holiday with Yoga Explorers! Be warned, this Dutchie will be back.
Thank you guys!"

"Unforgettable trip. So glad I came. It was special. Thanks to you both and I hope to join you for many more. Love and thanks, Claudie xo"
"Inspirational mix of humour and yoga. Works every time! Bring it on.
Gentle, rich and transformational. A smile for you"
"Thank-you for this life changing experience. Jim is one of those rare people who can help you start on a path that you can take with you for the rest of your life. I loved every moment and wish I had met you both many years ago."

"Can we have some more Disco moves - I promise to bring Robin. Oh and sort those mosies out!!! But apart from all that - I LOVED IT.
Thanx for a wonderful funful holiday."

"Jim's approach to teaching yoga is founded in compassion. He has a rare gift of bringing the spiritual, historical and practical elements of yoga practice into one experience. All of this is shared with humor, lightness and expertise. I highly recommend his classes and retreats. Anyone with an awakening attitude to integrating yoga into their lives would surely benefit from his teaching."
Donna Fullman, Singer/Songwriter, Brighton, UK
Charlotte is a brilliant yoga teacher. She is very knowledgeable about how to restore the body's balance, which makes me feel rejuvenated. She is thorough, gentle, practical and intuitive, knowing just the right comment to assist me at just the right moment.
"After my second yoga trip with Jim I must say they get better and better. I only wish I lived in Brighton so I could go to his classes.
Jim is mindful and so knowledgeable about the whole ethos of yoga that you are not just bending and stretching but getting all the background too. I can't wait until my next trip with Jim and wonder what delights it will bring.
Dahab was super fun with lots of amazingly funny and insightful people and I think I might have made a couple of new friends which is always a bonus.
The hotel was well chosen with a beautiful vista across the red sea to Saudi and Jordon.
In fact pure bliss."
"I wouldn't have missed the 'Dahab experience' for the world........
The yoga was expected - and how pleasing to be practicing in the morning and evening light under a bedouin tent, and the jolly attention of Jim Tarran - but not the bucketfuls of laughter, learning to scuba dive, riding an Arabian steed, chanting in the desert, snorkeling, and hanging-out with the most convivial bunch of strangers you would wish to meet! And, yet, still feel fine doing absolutely nothing! I wouldn't have missed the 'Dahab experience' for the world!"
"If I could describe the perfect holiday it would be meeting new people that make you feel a million miles away from home with laughter and sharing stories; being in a beautiful place that makes the world feel massive;and doing some thrilling stuff that makes you feel alive! My first Yoga Explorers holiday in Egypt did all this and more.
The 4 hours of yoga, although daunting, was the most refreshing and pleasant yoga I've ever done; Jim is as fascinating to listen to as he is to experience, all things yogic and more.
The people were an eclectic and brilliant bunch who made me feel at times like I was away with my best school mates with all the giggling and farting in class. The tears of laughter were better therapy than you could ever pay for!
The trip was organised by the lovely and beautiful Jo with the perfect balance of everything just happening to happen on time, and feeling like you were on your own adventure. The scuba diving in the Red Sea and the desert marriage of Sheikh Audi to one of our ladies are images that will make me smile for a long, long time.
No matter how into yoga you are or aren't, I would recommend a Yoga Explorers holiday to anyone who loves life and all the surprises it brings along the way."
"I came on the yoga trip feeling quite scared that 4 hours of yoga a day would be too strenuous - the experience completely changed my view, word's can't do it justice but I will definitely be telling all my friends they've got to go!"
"NB: I had a preconceived idea that yoga was for the earnest, I now know it's for the joyous!"
"Four hours of yoga has proved to be so light and refreshing. I've loved every minute (& haven't laughed so much for ages!). Jim has an incredible ability to pitch the yoga to fit all ages and abilities - a true union in all senses. Thank you!"
"A wonderful experience!"

"Thanks Jo for doing all the organising. And Jim, what can I say. You exceeded all my expectations and I so enjoyed our yoga sessions. Your generosity knows no bounds. I am now more aware of my body, my practise and my teaching. Your spacious attention is now my new mantra!
Thank you and please keep me posted of your future retreats."

"We were lucky enough to join Jim earlier this year in Goa. YOGA IN PARADISE. You look at the photos, it is even more dreamy in real life...
As a couple travelling to Goa for the first time, you cant get more romantic. The yoga was amazing, for us both to get out of bed at 7am to join the morning class is a testament in itself.
Jim has a unique way of creating the 'perfect space' for each class, however many of us and whatever the level of ability or state of mind. It was evident that throughout the 10 days we all felt challenged, phyiscally and mentally. Yet with Jims soft and inspiring nature these challenges are somehow barely noticed until days or weeks later...whenever i think back to our time at yoga magic, i get that warm and glowing feeling in my stomach..i know that will never fade.. Even if it did, all I'd have to do is go to one of Jims classes in Brighton and it would come straight back!"
"I can thoroughly recommend Yoga Explorers and Jm's particular style of yoga.
I first came across Jim after picking up a brochure for one of his yoga holidays. Four retreats later, I have benefitted so much from his teaching that I have started the Vajrasati teacher training.
I can thoroughly recommend Yoga Explorers and Jim's particular style of yoga. The retreats are well researched as to location and vibe. And the accommodation and food are always superb.
Shortly after arriving at our destination Jim's gentle reassuring voice starts me on a journey of self discovery where calm breath dissolves into space, lightness and awareness of new horizons.
So far Goa is my favourite destination but as ever I look forward to new locations and experiences."
Best yoga retreat you can get! Morocco was amazing!
Nick and Nel Potter
"Yoga Explorers holidays manage to uniquely combine great locations with Jim's insightful and regularly humorous approach to Yoga, in the company of like minded and soon to be long time friends, rather than just travel companions."
Nick and Nel Potter
"The fact that I’m already looking forward to the next one is testament enough!
I really enjoyed the yoga, not only because of the first-class instruction but as there was so much good feeling and laughter between us. I didn’t know anyone on the course before I went and really enjoyed being around such friendly and positive people. Another thing that set this holiday apart was the opportunity to try other activities, such as day trips to nearby towns or going surfing."
"Yoga Explorers, it really does exactly what it says on the tin. The yoga is a journey: deep, expansive and blissful. The exploration is an adventure: exciting, unexpected and fun.
Bathed in beautiful surroundings the body transforms, reconnects with energy, flexibility and ease. But it is not just the body, the mind discovers awareness, acceptance and peace. Two gently challenging classes a day are complemented by great food and even better company.
There is something about Jim's yoga that just seems to attract really good people. Perhaps it's Jim!"
"I have travelled twice with Yoga Explorers each time on a ‘magical’ holiday to Yoga Magic retreat centre in Goa. My highest recommendation is that I returned the second year and am looking forward to 2011!
The holiday was perfect in every way –
- Easy to book with help and advice readily available regarding top-class, but inexpensive flights and visas etc.
- Easy to travel – as an inexperienced traveller it was great that flights were arranged together with others on the holiday
- Transfers were arranged from the destination airport
- Accommodation, food and service at the retreat were of the highest quality, and nothing was too much trouble for the smiling staff
- The yoga was taught by Jim Tarran (my favourite yoga teacher, so I’m a bit biased), and the level and duration was tailored to the mix of students and surrounding temperatures
- I returned from each holiday weighing less, feeling fit, refreshed and at peace with the world.
What more can I say??"
"Initially a bit concerned - was I going to be the yoga beginner who held everyone back? But I needn't have worried. I never felt out of place - Jim's caring and professional coaching was truly inspiring.
Together with an amazing venue in India and a great group of people, what more could anyone want? I'm already saving for next year - Paradise!"

"Just want to say again how valuable I found the retreat in Spain, it was really insightful & useful for me (as a stress head!), and a thoroughly enjoyable week away! - So, thank you!"
I had been attending yoga classes off and on for a while (more 'off' than 'on' I'm afraid; due to the demands of a busy life I rarely got there more than once a month) when in January 2009 I made a snap decision to join Jim's yoga retreat in Goa. I have to admit I felt a bit fearful - would my body be able manage a load of unaccustomed physical activity? How would I feel about spending 10 days in the company of strangers (or even worse, myself?!)
So off I went, armed with books, i-pod and blackberry to keep my ever busy head occupied. I have always been hungry for new sights and when travelling have kept myself busy planning the next thing to go and visit, so taking time to be with just myself and few distractions was to be a new experience.
The first thing I noticed was how virtuous I felt! Getting up early - a nice gentle yoga session to start the day, then I'd really earned a large and delicious brunch with fresh coffee followed by a nice lie down at the pool in the afternoon.
As the days progressed I felt myself becoming stronger, more relaxed and suddenly able to focus on myself. I constructed a complete 5 -year life plan with associated 'to do' lists - for once, not to do with work, but to do with my own goals and aspirations. I even wrote a few poems.
Yoga helps with strength and flexibility of both the body and the mind. In fact, as the retreat progressed I began to use the physical poses to help me to work through issues that were difficult for me to think about. In yoga they use the term 'bodymind' -it makes a lot of sense.
I came home rejuvenated and full of energy. Suddenly I could deal with anything life threw at me! And what was great was that the effect lasted.
In November 2009 I went on Jim's retreat to Thailand. Equally lovely but with more wildlife! I plan to go on one every year if I can. It's not all yoga and sunbathing and massages - there's a bit of sightseeing and shopping too, and jungle walking in Thailand. Each retreat offers different opportunities.
I'd really recommend this to anyone - whatever your age or previous experience, wherever you are at in your life, you will have a wonderful time."
