Tropical palms, white sands and the Indian Ocean lapping at what is arguably the most beautiful beach on the whole of Sri Lanka form the backdrop to this fabulous yoga retreat. Your twice daily yoga practice on the open-air pavilion will be guided and developed by the awesome support of one of London's best teachers, Jonelle Lewis.
Jonelle is an outstanding teacher, who brings amazing energy, warmth and inspiration to every class. Morning sessions will be vibrant and flowing, energising us to make the very most of the day ahead. Evening sessions will focus on a yin practice to ground our energies leaving us feeling composed and content.
The retreat is suitable for all levels of experience from complete beginners through to seasoned yogis. Sessions will include āsana (postures), mantra (chanting), pranayama (breathing exercises), and dhyana (meditation).
There will be two yoga classes each day except for the 6th when there will be a day off for those who want to explore further afield, perhaps you'd like to do a day safari at Yala or Udawalawe National Park or go whale-watching? There are world-class whale-watching opportunities only 40 minutes along the coast from where we will be and we will be there in peak whale-watching season.
There is plenty of time between classes to relax, enjoy the spa, explore the beach, visit a local Buddhist temple or even learn to surf. One-to-one surf lessons are available at $50 USD for an hour and a half.

Arrival day. We leave the day free for you to arrive at leisure. The first group meal will be dinner at 7:30 pm on the 2nd. This will be the first time we will meet as a group, although you may meet fellow yogis by the pool beforehand. You can check into your room from 2 pm, though if you arrive earlier we will do our best to accommodate you, and you are welcome to enjoy all facilities from whenever you arrive.
Over dinner, Jonelle will introduce herself and talk to you about the week ahead. This is also an opportunity to discuss privately any injuries or personal issues if you’d like to, (there is also a chance to let us know any concerns or injuries in advance on the booking form we will send you).
- 8 am - 10 am: Morning Yoga
- 10 am: Breakfast
- 1 pm: Lunch
- 5 pm - 6:30 pm: Evening Yoga
- 7:30 pm: Dinner
Departure day. Check out from your room is at midday, though you are welcome to leave your bags at reception and keep enjoying the resort until you leave. If you’d like a later check out let us know and we can see what is possible. Lunch is served as usual at 1pm for those who are leaving later, and you are welcome to continue using the facilities until whatever time you depart.
