Heal your mind body and spirit

The name of this retreat is Samata. Samata is a Sanskrit word meaning the state of equilibrium and balance. Every inch of this beautiful Eden-like destination is designed with your well-being and your harmony, both within yourself and with your world, at the heart.

The staff here are exceptional. From the chefs to the organic gardeners, to the housekeepers and the Ayurvedic practitioners, every single individual is committed to building and sustaining an environment that facilitates joy, well-being and harmony. And boy do they do it well. Spending time at this wonderful place is a sharp reminder of how simple it can be to get it right.

The property is vast with ancient mango trees and coconut palms lining terraced paths to the many places for you to enjoy. A fabulous freshwater teardrop shaped swimming pool surrounded by a broad paved terrace strewn with stylish sun loungers and flowering plants.

At the heart of the property stands a beautiful 12m x 12 m hardwood floored, high ceilinged, open-sided yoga shala that has floor length netted drapes to keep you mosquito safe even at sunset.

Rooms are spacious, stylish and comfortable with terraces or balconies overlooking the delightful grounds.

Holistic and Ayurvedic treatments with world-class therapists...

The timeless medicinal traditions represented at Samata’s on-site clinic are based on the Ayurvedic concept of swasthya (well-being). A view of life and health that considers the unique nature of a person’s body, mind, and spirit.

Ayurvedic, Chinese, and Tibetan medicines and therapies including acupuncture, TCM, cupping, Shirodhara and Karma Chikitsa are amongst the treatments available as well as the ancient Indian discipline of Vedic Astrology.

Top-class international physicians offer a wide variety of therapies and expert guidance as well as an extensive herbal pharmacy for support regarding specific health issues or nourishing your life in general.

Mouth-watering organic food fresh from the farm...

The mind-blowing organic garden with every type of fruit and vegetable you could imagine provides the healthiest, tastiest fresh ingredients with which head chef Tess Rosenbush craft her Ayurvedic culinary delights.

Organic lassis and spicy homemade chai made using Samata's own garden-grown ginger and raw organic milk from their grass-fed cow. This creamy milk is also used to make homemade organic butter, paneer, ghee, yogurt and sour cream. All Samata's eggs come from their own well-loved, scrap fed and organically raised hens.

Tess and her team follow ayurvedic guidelines in the preparation of all meals for optimal health and digestion. This is seriously good ayurvedic vegetarian food that’s sure to melt the heart of even the staunchest carnivore.
